Tips for National Foundation Grants

posted Oct 16, 2012, 1:29 PM by Rebecca Baumann
On October 2 the Minnesota Council of Nonprofits held a workshop on national foundations.  Here are the main tips that caught my attention.

1. National Foundations do have funding available for Minnesota
2. They are looking for unique projects that address nationwide problems or successful programs that can be replicated in other areas.
3. The process of obtaining grants is longer, and you should expect to invest about three years cultivating a relationship.
4. Stay in communication with the foundations through press releases and other information generated by your nonprofit.  They are particularly interested in learning new information from your research and experiences.

Good luck with your fundraising.
